(Simone) After relenting to Starbucks' coffee and croissant for breakfast we had a mad dash via cable car(s) to Fisherman's Wharf for the infamous Segway tour. Am Glad to report that I only had one minor stack and that I did in fact master the "vehicle" and saw lots of things I may never have seen.
Met a couple on the tram from Glebe! Got good tip for Italian food. Checked out markets at Pier One
and had lunch : Hamish had the Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwich! Right up his alley!
Finished the day with a visit to the S.F.M.O.M.A. It was incredible : Favourite piece was Frida Kahlo's "Frida and Diego"
So moving to see my favourite artists work up close!
My turn.....(Hamish)
Well the Segway tour was a hoot (hmmm.... maybe time to replace the vespa). Simone was a total sport and i think almost enjoyed it, I certainly did. Mostly we went on the flats and saw a lot that would take hours on foot, those maps are misleading - there are some miles to cover in this town.
Yes I had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich but in part (and really only in part) that was because it was there and i saw too many episodes of the Brady's...
so... here it is....
and it was nice.
After Segways and lunch we went to SFMOMA - it was good, but what was more amazing was to see Simone so moved by a painting. That alone was worth the price of admission. They had a few Dali's (one of my favourite artists) but i have to say on the whole they were a little disappointing, but there was plenty of other good stuff.
and the SFMOMA Shop was all that i'd heard and then some (and yes girls we got you stuff!!).
Decided we'd try Pizza for dinner and the Concierge delivered the goods.
Utterly pooped now - hoped that we can call home before 10 SFO time - not sure we'll be awake then.
that is all....
Oh yeah - we saw Peter Costello today - he didnt recognise me.
Hamish - keep the food shots coming I love a good food photo. Was that brown/multigrain bread? What were you thinking!! Do you have butter on a PB&J? Glad that you didn't buy any food at the markets - it all looked too healthy.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to an all you can eat experience (before and after shots please).
omg you look like you are having so much fun! And the weather looks fantastic. Well done you two. What a way to get around. I had never heard of the segway - would love to see some video footage! keep up the fun times and the busy pace (that's what I like to see).
